Member In Good Standing Criteria

MIG
In order to receive assignments to work the State Tournament contests in any sport an official must be a Member In Good Standing (MIG) with their officials organization. The SCOA recently adopted new MIG criteria for its members. These standards are in effect for the 2016-17 season and will affect an official’s MIG status for the 2017-18 State Tournaments. Please note that an official is a MIG with respect to each sport they officiate.

To be a MIG:

1. The official must have their current dues paid.
2. Additionally the official must earn a minimum of 6 MIG point during the sport season. Points may be earned by doing the following;
• 1 pt – Attend an SCOA general meeting
• 2 pt – Attend an SCOA sport specific meeting
• 1 pt – Attend another associations meeting (maximum of one meeting per sport). This needs to be cleared with your trainer.
• 2 pt – Participate in an instructional scrimmage.
• 2 pt – Attend an MHSAA sponsored or other approved sport specific camp/clinic.
